Box ScoreST. CLOUD, Minn. – Mack Ohnsted's shorthanded goal 2:30 into overtime gave Augsburg a 6-5 win over Saint John's on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

The Auggies' Dylan Meier was called for a slashing penalty 40 seconds into overtime and the Johnnies crashed the net with three shots on goal, but Corbin Chapman found Ohnsted all alone in front for the game-winner.
Rory Vesel gave Augsburg (6-4, 3-0 MIAC) a quick 1-0 lead 57 seconds into the game on a shot from the blue line that junior
Saxton Soley (Elk Mound, Wis.) did not see due to traffic in front.

Phil Johnson (Duluth, Minn.) tied it for SJU () 3:28 later with his second goal of the season, and 25th of his career, on the power play. Juniors
Neal Smith (Rogers, Minn.) and
Joe Freemark (Lakeville, Minn.) tallied the assists.
Zach Dick put the Auggies back ahead at the 12:08 mark of the first period, but freshman
Tyler Dunagan (Maple Grove, Minn.) tied it up with a backhander off his own rebound 1:42 later. Sophomore
Kevin Becker (Roseville, Minn.) was credited with the lone assist.
In nearly carbon-copy fashion to the start of the game, Nate Flynn gave the Auggies their third lead of the game 52 seconds into the second period.
Senior
John Carroll (Eagan, Minn.) tied it with a nice wrister to the far corner 2:58 later for his second goal of the season. Smith and junior
Alex Ach (Champlin, Minn.) assisted on the scoring play for SJU.
Drew Anderson made it 4-3 in favor of the visitors less than three minutes later before Johnson tallied his second power-play goal of the season with a put-back in front at the 15:10 mark of the second. Senior
Wally Cossette (Maple Grove, Minn.) drove a slapshot to the net where Haeg hacked at the loose puck in front before Johnson stuffed it in.
Dick posted his second goal of the game 12:38 into the third period and the Auggies' fifth lead stood for nearly six minutes before Vatnsdal's heroics.
Soley allowed the career-high six goals and made 24 saves in the loss. His previous career-high for goals allowed was five in the 5-1 loss at Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Jan. 4, 2013.
SJU was 2-for-4 on the power play, out-shot the Auggies 34-30 and hit the pipe three times in the game.
The Johnnies travel to face the Auggies for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Augsburg Ice Arena in Minneapolis.
