Johnnies Suffer Heartbreaking Overtime Loss, 1-0

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Carleton's Jordan Cammarota scored on a free kick just outside the goal box 3:36 into overtime to hand Saint John's a 1-0 defeat on Saturday, Oct. 4, in Collegeville.

Junior Alex Niederloh (Maple Grove, Minn.) and sophomore Nick Van Marter (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) led SJU (6-5, 3-2 MIAC) with three shots apiece.

SJU controlled the second half, out-shooting the Knights (5-5, 3-1 MIAC) by a 9-3 (5-0 on goal) advantage, but could not net the game-winner.

Junior Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) recorded three saves in the loss as the shot total finished at 14-10 (5-4 on goal) in favor of the home team.

The Johnnies return to the pitch next Saturday, Oct. 11, at Bethel. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Ona Orth Complex in Arden Hills.
