Johnnies Stumble at Bethel, 1-0

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Saint John's soccer suffered its second consecutive 1-0 loss on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Bethel.

Tim Ness scored the match's only goal, his first of the season, with a header off a corner kick from Danny Jaderholm 11:34 into the second half. The win snapped an eight-match losing streak for BU (5-9, 1-5 MIAC) and was the first for the Royals over SJU since 2004.

SJU (6-6, 3-3 MIAC) had two goals called back, including one with less than two minutes remaining in the match. 

Junior Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) made seven saves in the loss.

The Johnnies return to the Twin Cities on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at St. Thomas. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at UST's South Field in St. Paul.
