SARTELL, Minn. – St. Thomas swept all three doubles matches and escaped Sartell with a 5-4 win over Saint John's on Saturday, April 20, at Fitness Evolution.

SJU (4-11, 4-3 MIAC) bounced back with four wins in six singles matches but missed handing St. Thomas (9-3, 6-0 MIAC) its first conference loss by one point.

Senior Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) won his fourth straight with matching 6-3 scores at No. 1. He is now 16-5 overall and 11-4 at the top spot (6-1 MIAC).

Freshman Jack Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) improved to 4-3 in conference play with a win at No. 4 (7-5, 6-4). Seniors Zach Shriwise (Overland Park, Kan./ Blue Valley West) and Willie Paul (Duluth, Minn./Marshall) followed with victories at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Paul is now 6-1 in MIAC play.

The Johnnies play host to Macalester for their third home match in three days at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Fitness Evolution.
