ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Olaf rejoined Saint John's in second place with a 2-1 win over the Johnnies on Saturday, Feb. 11, in St. Cloud.
Following a scoreless first period, Charlie Raskob gave the Oles (11-7-5, 7-5-2 MIAC) a 1-0 lead 8:38 into the second frame.
Junior Joe Harren (Warroad, Minn.) tied the contest at 1-1 with his seventh goal of the season 12:34 into the third period. Junior Tobias Linbro (Nykvarn, Sweden) and sophomore Trent Johnson (Duluth, Minn.) assisted on the scoring play for SJU (10-11-2, 8-6-0 MIAC).
Peter Rohn tallied the game-winner 10 seconds into a power play 2:11 later.
The Johnnies outshot St. Olaf 30-24 in the game and held a 39-22 advantage on faceoffs. SJU, however, was 0-for-4 on the power play (0-for-7 on the weekend).
Junior J.D. Wells (Anoka, Minn.) made 22 saves to suffer his first loss of the season (6-1-0 record). Ben Leis made 29 stops for STO.
Eight of the Johnnies' last 10 losses to the Oles have been decided by one goal.
SJU plays host to Bethel (7-14-2, 5-7-2 MIAC) for Senior Night this Thursday, Feb. 16. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
