ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 3 Saint John's played its first outdoor competition in Minnesota since early October and defeated St. Cloud State 300-306 on a blustery Thursday, April 14, at Territory G.C. in St. Cloud.

Junior Alex Klehr (Mankato, Minn./West) tied with senior Ben Cahill (Grand Rapids, Minn.) and SCSU's Gordy Diekman for medalist honors with a one-over par 73.

Junior Tony Krogen (Marshall, Minn.) and sophomore Mark Giorgi (Red Wing, Minn.) tied for fifth overall with a 75 each (+3), while sophomore Dennis Granath (Bandhagen, Sweden/Farsta Gymnasium) posted a 77 (+5).

Senior Will Wahlers (Eden Prairie, Minn.) finished fourth overall as an individual with a two-over par 74.

The Johnnies return to action this Sunday and Monday, April 17-18, at the annual Bobby Krig Invitational hosted by Gustavus Adolphus. Sunday's 18 holes will be played at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, followed by 36 holes Monday at the Le Sueur C.C.
