HOUGHTON, Mich. – Saint John's finished fifth out of seven teams in both races of this past weekend's NCAA Qualifier in Houghton, Mich.

Senior Jared Sundstrom (Proctor, Minn.), freshman Kellen Witschen (Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East) and fellow freshman Nate Engel (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) were responsible for all of SJU's points. Sundstrom finished 19th out of 46 skiers in Saturday's 10k classic, while Witschen and Engel finished 23rd and 31st, respectively.

Sundstrom claimed 13th out of 45 skiers to lead SJU once again in Sunday's 15k freestyle. Witschen and Engel followed in 28th and 30th, respectively.

After a month of non-stop competition, the Johnnies take a well-earned break before heading to the CCSA Championships, hosted by Northern Michigan in Ishpeming, Mich., Feb. 12-13.
