A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's (4-13, 3-5 MIAC) brought its three-game skid to a halt with a 3-1 win over No. 15 Gustavus Adolphus last Saturday, Jan. 22. The Johnnies have now either defeated or tied Gustavus in 32 of the last 38 meetings (28-6-4 record) and are 19-3-1 against GAC at home since 1992-93, including a 17-1-1 record in in the last 19 meetings at the National Hockey Center. Michael Palmiscno (East Grand Forks, Minn.). The Gusties (11-6-2, 5-3-2 MIAC) tied it three minutes later with a power-play goal from Adam Smyth. Johnson was called for a five-minute major, checking from behind, and a game misconduct 3:29 into the second period, which gave the Gusties a five-minute power play. Grant Ellena (Coon Rapids, Minn.) gave the lead back to SJU (4-13, 3-5 MIAC) 1:11 after the power play's expiration. Freshman

Jascha Pettit (Wadena, Minn.) rattled a slap shot off the post and in to pad the Johnnies' lead with 1:08 remaining in the game. Harren and Palmiscno tallied assists on the scoring play. Junior
Tony Civello (Shoreview, Minn.) registered a stellar performance, making 32 saves to improve his record to 3-8 on the year.
A LOOK AT THE COBBERS: Concordia-Moorhead (8-8-3 overall, 4-3-3 MIAC) enters this weekend's series riding a three-game winning streak after sweeping Augsburg by scores of 2-1 and 3-2 last weekend. This weekend's games against SJU are the first of six consecutive home games to end the regular season for Concordia. Juniors Nick Thielen and Erick Galt currently lead the Cobbers with 21 (4g/17a) and 18 points (2g/16a), respectively, while sophomore Pat Dietz has 16 (12g/4a). Deitz, who scored the game-winning goal in each victory last weekend, currently leads the nation with nine power-play goals. Thielen and Galt, meanwhile, are 1-2 in the MIAC in assists. Freshman Kelly Andrew is 7-4-3 in net with a 2.96 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
LAST SEASON: Saint John's posted a 1-0-1 mark against the Cobbers last season. In the first game, 13 of SJU's 18 skaters recorded a point as the Johnnies cruised to a 7-2 win. The next game ended in a 1-1 tie. Concordia took an early 1-0 lead 6:25 into the game on a power-play goal. Ellena tied it at 1-1 nine minutes later. The Johnnies out-shot Concordia 20-18 the rest of the way, but were 0-for-4 on the power play.
SERIES HISTORY: Dating back to the 1984-1985 season, Saint John's leads the all-time series 35-24-5 in 64 previous meetings. The Johnnies, however, have either defeated or tied the Cobbers in 21 of the last 23 meetings. Head coach

SPECIAL TEAMS: This weekend's matchup will feature the MIAC's (conference games only) worst power play (SJU) against the worst penalty kill (CON). On the flipside, the best power play (CON) will go head-to-head against the fourth-ranked penalty kill (SJU).
