Maxbauer Finishes Sixth at MIAC Decathlon, Rausch Claims Ninth

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saint John's University junior Dan Maxbauer (Traverse City, Mich./St. Francis) finished sixth (5,382 points) out of 14 competitors at the MIAC Decathlon on Friday, May 7.

Maxbauer finished second in the 100-meter dash (11.97) and third in both the high jump (1.77 meters) and long jump (5.97 meters) for a total of 2,886 points, 327 points behind the leader, following Thursday's competition. He then won the 110-meter hurdles (16.94) and second in the pole vault (3.82 meters) on Friday.

Freshman Derek Rausch (White Bear Lake, Minn.) claimed ninth place (4,550 points) thanks to a second-place finish at the 110-meter hurdles (17.20) on Friday. He finished fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.96) and fifth in the 400-meter dash (56.66) on Thursday.

The Johnnies host the Meet of Saints on Saturday, May 8. The meet is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
