A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's won its spring invitational with a three-day total of 854 (-2) on April 25 at the Monticello C.C. Concordia-Moorhead finished second with an 882 (+26), 28 strokes behind SJU. Sophomore Tony Krogen (Marshall, Minn.) earned medalist honors for the second time this season with a 211 (-3), followed by freshman Mark Giorgi (Red Wing, Minn.) and senior Ben Vangsness (Alexandria, Minn.) in second (212, -2) and third (216, +2) overall, respectively. The previous school record, set before the 2010 spring season began, was a 10-over par 874 recorded at the 2008 Twin Cities Classic.

MIAC GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Krogen was named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on April 26 for his medalist performance last weekend. Krogen, who became the became the eighth Johnnie in school history to earn medalist honors at the MIAC Championship last fall, currently leads the MIAC with a 73.2 stroke average in 18 rounds of play this season.

A LOOK AT THE TOMMIES: St. Thomas took fourth out of 16 teams at the SJU Spring Invitational last weekend. Sean Barrett had Sunday rounds of 69 and 75 to tie for seventh (219, +5). Grant Shafranski shot 73-72 on Sunday and finish tied for 16th (222, +8), while Brandon Engebos tied for 18th (223, +9). Shafranski and Barrett are currently 13th (76.3 avg.) and 15th (76.5 avg.), respectively, in the MIAC.
