A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: In their most recent game, Saint John's dropped a 3-0 decision at Luther (Iowa) on Sunday, Oct. 24. The Johnnies (5-5-4, 4-2-2 MIAC) did not start seven regulars; including senior goalkeeper Matt Anderson (Eden Prairie, Minn.), in preparation for today's important MIAC match against Macalester.
A LOOK AT THE SCOTS: Macalester (12-3-1, 6-2 MIAC) has won their last two games as they enter into Tuesday's match. In their last game on Oct. 22, the Scots took a 4-3 overtime win against St. Thomas. Macalester was down by three goals and scored goals in the 78th, 88th and 90th minute to force overtime. Freshman Robin Forslund then scored the game-winning goal in the first minute of overtime. Sophomore Taylor Rasmussen leads the Scots with 21 points (10g/1a), followed by senior Stephen Murphy-Logue with 16 (7g/2a). Junior Matt Weyer is 7-0-1 with a 0.24 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
THE LAST MEETING: The Johnnies fell 3-0 at Macalester on Oct. 17 of last year. The Scots took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute (38:29) and added to their lead with two goals 1:26 apart with less than five minutes remaining in the match. The loss snapped the Johnnies' four-game winning streak in the series.
