Hansen and Odegaard Earn Academic All-MIAC Honors

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. –Saint John's University juniors Dutch Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) and Luke Odegaard (Forest Lake, Minn.) earned 2008-09 Winter and Spring Academic All-MIAC honors June 25.

A 2009 All-MIAC selection in singles competition, Hansen collected a 10-10 overall record, including an 8-8 record at No. 2 singles, in 2009. Hansen also tallied an 8-10 record in doubles competition. Hansen is a biology major (pre-medicine emphasis) with a 3.76 GPA.

A two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and a 2008 All-MIAC selection, Odegaard posted an 8-11 singles record and an 8-13 record in doubles competition this past spring. An accounting major with a 3.90 GPA, Odegaard earned All-MIAC honors in 2008.

SJU ended the season with a 9-9 overall record and a 5-4 record in the MIAC. SJU head coach Jack Bowe ended his 12th season with a 121-116 career dual record at SJU.

Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale to qualify for Academic All-MIAC recognition. Athletically, tennis student-athletes must have competed in 50 percent of the team's varsity regular season contests.
