BECKER, Minn. – No. 6 Saint John's cruised to a 290-313 win over St. Thomas in a dual meet on Saturday, April 18, at the Pebble Creek G.C. in Becker. Saint John's Blue finished second out of the four teams with a 306 (+18) and St. Thomas II ended the day with a 318 (+30).

Seniors Joe Daly (Owatonna, Minn.) and Joe Schoolmeesters (Litchfield, Minn.) and junior Ben Vangsness (Alexandria, Minn.) led the Johnnies with an even-par 72 each. Senior Joey Polingo (Litchfield, Minn.) finished fifth overall with a two-over par 74.

Senior Jeff Nechas (Otsego, Minn./Wayzata) led Saint John's Blue with a 72 as well, while freshman Tony Krogen (Marshall, Minn.) finished sixth out of the 27 golfers with a four-over par 76.

The Johnnies return to action at Gustavus Adolphus' Bobby Krig Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21. The first round will be held at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, followed by the second round at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan.
