SARTELL, Minn. – Saint John's University dropped its season opener to Luther (Iowa) 8-1 on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Sartell.

Senior Kevin Goihl (Litchfield, Minn.) recorded the Johnnies' lone win with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 win over Nate Jung at No. 4 singles. 

SJU (0-1, 0-0 MIAC) opens MIAC play by playing host to Macalester next Sunday, Feb. 15. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Gold's Gym in Sartell.
