ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Olaf carried over its third-period scoring from Friday night to tally two unanswered goals in the final frame to defeat Saint John's 2-1 Saturday, Nov. 15 in St. Cloud.
SJU took a 1-0 lead at the 9:52 mark of the first period on a goal from senior forward Jake Hipp (Bismarck, N.D.). Senior forward Clayton Rehm (Park Rapids, Minn.) and sophomore forward Mike Wallgren (Oakdale, Minn.) assisted on the scoring play for SJU (1-5, 0-2 MIAC).
The Oles tied the game with a power-play goal from Isak Tranvik 7:14 into the third period. St. Olaf's Nick Stalock tallied the game-winner four minutes later (11:37).
Freshman goaltender Steele DeFazio (Toronto, Ontario) made 19 saves in the loss.
SJU outshot the Oles 35-21 in the game.
SJU hosts Bethel this Thursday, Nov. 20 for a 7 p.m. faceoff at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
