SMITH, JOHNNIES BEGIN SEASON WITH SWEEP:  Saint John’s University senior outfielder Eric Smith (Rogers, Minn.) went 7-for-9 in the leadoff spot with two triples and seven RBI as the Johnnies opened their 2011 season with a sweep (7-1, 9-8) of Wisconsin-Stout on Monday, March 14, in Mesa, Ariz. Smith tallied a three-run triple in game one and spark the Johnnies’ run of seven unanswered runs with a two-run triple in game two. 

The Johnnies are scheduled to play eight more games in Arizona before returning home Sunday, March 20.
