Saint John’s University junior diver Wes Schlichting (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) won three of his four events and reached the NCAA qualifying standard on all four in a pair of meets last weekend. He started the week with a pair of first-place finishes Friday at the St. Thomas Diving Invitational. He won the 1-meter diving event with a total score of 497.05 and the 3-meter board with a tally of 477.90.

On Saturday, Schlichting won the 3-meter event with a score of 442.00 and finished second on the 1-meter board with a score of 440.10 at the St. Catherine Invitational. 

He was named the MIAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for his performances.

The Johnnies return to action at the annual Minnesota Challenge this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5, at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
