Saint John’s University senior Dustin Franta (La Crescent, Minn.) led all collegiate runners with a time of 26:23 to lead the Johnnies to a first-place finish out of 10 teams at the annual SJU Invitational held Saturday, Sept. 11, in Collegeville.

SJU tallied a total of 31 points, followed by MSU-Mankato (53), St. Cloud State (102), MSU-Moorhead (116) and Minnesota-Morris (146).

Franta and the Johnnies return to action Friday, Oct. 1, at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational. The race is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
