Saint John’s senior goalkeeper Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret’s) registered a .917 save percentage (11 saves) and a 0.45 GAA in 200 minutes in goal as the Johnnies went 1-0-1 against previously-unbeaten opponents in Iowa over the weekend. He was named the MIAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for his performance.

He made six saves to shut out then-No. 11 Loras, which upset No. 2 Wheaton (Ill.) by a 2-0 score earlier in the week (Sept. 8), in the scoreless tie Sept. 12. Lebahn then picked up the win in SJU’s 2-1 victory over Simpson Sept. 13.

The last time a team shut out the Duhawks in the Rock Bowl occurred Nov. 12, 2011 (4-0 win by Calvin in the NCAA tournament); a span of 43 home matches. Loras moved up to No. 6 nationally after Saturday’s 0-0 tie.

Lebahn is 3-1-1 in goal with one shutout, a 1.15 GAA and a .769 save percentage (20 saves). He leads the MIAC in games played (five), is third in wins and minutes (468:37), fifth in saves and sixth in GAA. He has allowed one or fewer goals in four of the five matches this season.

The Johnnies begin MIAC play with a 4 p.m. match at No. 23 St. Thomas on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in St. Paul.
