Saint John's senior Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) finished second for the second consecutive year at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Sept. 30.

He upset the tournament's top seed, Gustavus Adolphus' Amrik Donkena, in the semifinals (1-6, 6-1, 6-1) and won the first set of the championship match 6-3, but dropped the final two (4-6, 1-6) to the Gusties' Mya-Smith Dennis.

Moncada finished with a 5-1 record in a bracket of 119 student-athletes.
