Saint John's University

Klinkner joined the Saint John’s University staff as the athletic media relations director in December 2005. Prior to joining the SJU staff, Klinkner served as a graduate assistant in the athletic media relations office at St. Cloud State during Fall 2005 while earning his master’s degree in sports management. A 2004 graduate of SJU, Klinkner served as a sports information student assistant from 2001-04.

He handles all media requests, photos, archives and statistics of the SJU athletic department. Klinkner also oversees all aspects of www.gojohnnies.com and SJU athletics’ social-media channels. He works with The Gagliardi Trophy, which is awarded to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III, internal and external media outlets, and coordinates/staffs all home SJU varsity events.

Klinkner served as chair of the MIAC sports information directors from 2007-09 and the vice chair of CoSIDA's Goodwill and Wellness Committee from 2007-15. He earned CoSIDA's Rising Star Award (College Division) in 2014.

Klinkner served on CoSIDA's Goodwill and Wellness Committee as a member from 2015-22, and joined the CoSIDA Academic All-America committee as a publicity coordinator in Spring 2017. He was a member of the USBWA Division III National Player of the Week Selection Committee from 2017-23.

He is a native of New Ulm, Minn., and resides in St. Joseph with his wife Jaclyn (CSB '04), and sons, Brayden and Evan.
