Alex Baumann joined the Saint John's University athletic department as its athletic operations coordinator in September of 2025.
At SJU, Baumann is responsible for handling athletic administrative duties and supporting the daily operations of athletic programs and events.
Baumann came to SJU from Southwest MInnesota State University where he served as the assistant athletic director. Baumann graduated from Minnesota-Morris in 2023 with a degree in sport management and minors in business, psychology and coaching. He received his master's degree from SMSU in 2025 in sport leadership.
While at Morris, Baumann played baseball for the Cougars, earning UMAC All-Conference honors in three seasons and D3baseball.com All-Region Third Team Honors in 2023. He was a member of Morris' student-athlete advisory committee and served as a coach for Mayer Lutheran JV basketball and summer baseball.
