Forte is in his third season as an assistant coach at SJU in 2014-15. A 1989 graduate of Bemidji State, Forte played hockey for American International College in Springfield, Mass., from 1984-86. He served as the head coach at Brainerd H.S. from 1991-97 and led the Warriors to two conference titles. He coached the Minnesota Select 17’s from 1999-2004 at the National Festival and directed the Upper Midwest Elite League’s North team for two years, earning a playoff championship berth. In the meantime, Forte coached St. Cloud Apollo for one year (2000) and led the Eagles to a conference title. He currently teaches sixth grade at Kennedy Community School in St. Joseph and lives in Sartell with his son, Nico.
