Noora Räty is in her third season as the Johnnies’ goaltender coach in 2026-27. She is also in her third season as an assistant coach for the Division I St. Cloud State women’s team.

She represented Finland in four Olympic Games and nine IIHF World Championships, winning two Olympic bronze medals and five IIHF medals (one silver, four bronze). She earned All-Star honors at the 2018 Olympics in South Korea. She was the IIHF tournament’s MVP in 2008.

Her club career has included playing in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), the Naisten Liiga (called the Naisten SM-sarja until 2017), and the Russian Women's Hockey League, in addition to being the first woman to play as a goaltender in both the Finnish men's second- and third-tier professional leagues, the Mestis and the Suomi-sarja.

Räty was one of the nine founding board members of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and the only member to hold citizenship outside of North America.

Collegiately, she was a two-time All-American and won two national championships at Division I Minnesota. She owns the NCAA record for winning percentage in a season (1.000/38-0 in 2013), is second in career goalie shutouts (43), tied for second in career goalie wins (114) and is fifth in career save percentage (.946).
