Dave Laliberte ’00 has coached men's and women's hockey at youth, high school, and college ranks for over twenty years, including as CSB head coach (2003-2005) and currently as an SJU volunteer assistant coach (2024-present). With the Johnnies, Laliberte's primary roles are in video analysis, scouting work and individual player skill development. Outside of SJU, Laliberte has earned a master's degree in sport science from the United States Sports Academy and a Level 5 Master's coaching certification from USA Hockey, has published a scholarly article on the biomechanics of hockey sticks in The Sport Journal, and has coached at Minnesota Hockey Select Festivals and at USA Hockey National Development Festivals. Most recently, Laliberte has volunteer coached youth hockey while teaching history at a local community college. He is married to Kristi (CSB 2000), a former all-region soccer defender for the Bennies, and they and their two sons, Patrick and Kevin Finn, reside in Sauk Rapids.
