Phillips is in his second season as an assistant basketball coach at SJU in 2011-12. He joins the Johnnies’ staff after previously serving as a student-assistant at the University of Minnesota for three seasons. During that time, Phillips and the Gophers experienced two NCAA Tournament appearances. While at Minnesota, Phillips graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Phillips is a native of Oakdale, Minn., and an alumnus of Tartan High School.
