A 2012 graduate of SJU, Powers is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Johnnies in 2016. He played tight end for the Johnnies from 2008-12 after missing the 2010 season due to injury. A two-sport student-athlete in Collegeville, Powers was a two-time MIAC outdoor champion in the discus and a three-time All-MIAC honoree (top three individually) as a thrower on the SJU track and field team.
