Orts is in his ninth season on the offensive coaching staff, working with SJU’s quarterbacks, in 2021. He coached as an assistant for five seasons at SJU before serving as the co-offensive coordinator at Division II Minnesota-Crookston in 2017. Orts was a four-year player from 2006-09 as a quarterback (freshman year) and wide receiver for the Johnnies. Prior to SJU, Orts served as a varsity assistant/head junior varsity football coach at Maple Grove High School for two seasons from 2010-11. A 2009 graduate of SJU, Orts and his wife, Anna, have a son, John, and daughter, Aubrey, and live in St. Joseph.
