Welsh is in his second season on the baseball coaching staff in 2015 after playing from 2003-07. Welsh recently coached the junior varsity baseball team at St. Cloud Tech H.S. He completed his sixth season on SJU football's offensive coaching staff in 2014 after being a four-year player at quarterback and wide receiver from 2003-07 and a member of the 2003 SJU National Championship team. Welsh recently assisted Jim Mader with the Cineplexx Blue Devils, a semi-professional team in the Austrian Football League (AFL) and the Switzerland NLA League, as the offensive coordinator. He graduated with an economics degree from Saint John's in 2007 and a master’s degree in Sports Psychology from Capella University. He works for SprinTurf and lives in St. Joseph.
