BECKER PARK
Home to America’s pastime on the campus of Saint John’s University is Becker Park, which is named after the new stadium's benefactors, Scott '77 and Julie Becker. Built in 2013, the stadium was known as Saint John's Field until it was renamed Becker Park on May 7, 2016. Haugen Field, the playing surface within Becker Park, was dedicated in honor of head coach Jerry Haugen '76 on April 22, 2017.
The multi-million dollar upgrades included the installment of an artificial grass surface and the construction of large dugouts and a grandstand with a press box. A separate building was constructed for bathrooms, concessions and storage.
The Johnnies continue to extend a proud baseball tradition at Saint John’s Field, a tradition that dates back to 1907. The Johnnies have won 13 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) regular-season titles in their 102-year history, the first coming in 1936.
The Johnnies have 15 total conference titles total in their history, including MIAC playoff championships in 2012 and 2015, dating back to the days when Saint John's was a part of the now-defunct Minnesota Dakota Intercollegiate Conference (MDIC). The Johnnies won the MDIC title in 1919.
The current NCAA Division III record for career batting average is held by former Saint John’s University standout Ryan Roder ’97. Roder maintained a .489 batting average in his career as a Johnnie.
Another notable Saint John’s Alumni is former Chicago Cubs coach and scout Vedie Himsl ’38, who was the first on-field manager in the Cubs’ “College of Coaches” experiment in 1961.
GAGLIARDI FIELD DOME
The baseball team also utilizes Gagliardi Field Dome to train on SJU's campus. The seasonal dome over Gagliardi Field is expected to be inflated each year from Oct. 15-April 15.
MCGLYNN FITNESS CENTER
