CSC Release

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Six Saint John's student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District at-large team on Tuesday, June 16.

The six Johnnies honored were junior hockey forward Jackson Bisson (Edina, Minn.), senior golfer Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area), sophomore golfer Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.), senior hockey goaltender Jon Howe (Chanhassen, Minn.), junior hockey forward Logan Lyke (Medina, Minn.) and junior hockey forward Jack Wandmacher (St. Louis Park, Minn.).

Each institution may nominate up to six student-athletes for Academic All-District recognition in the at-large category, which includes men's fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

Nominees must be a sophomore or older with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Athletically, golf nominees must have competed in 75 percent of the team's total varsity events that were team scoring events or have been in the lineup at the conference championship. Hockey nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games or have started 66 percent of the total.

The CSC honor is the second-straight for Bisson and Fultz. Howe is expected to receive Academic All-MIAC recognition (minimum 3.5 GPA) for a third time later this month, while the other five CSC honorees will collect their second.

A global business leadership major with a 3.63 GPA, Fultz was the 2024-25 MIAC Elite 22 Award recipient in golf for having the highest cumulative GPA among the student-athletes who finished in the top 10 at the MIAC Championships in October 2024. Fultz earned All-MIAC honors in 2024 with a fourth-place finish at the MIAC Championships and was a two-time MIAC athlete of the week. He is expected to earn his second Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-American Scholar honor later this summer and ended his career with a 76.3 scoring average in 65 rounds with two tournament wins.

An accounting major with a 3.51 GPA, Grahek earned GCAA All-Region honors in his sophomore season after finishing with All-MIAC honorable mention laurels despite posting a better national ranking (No. 105) than four of the five MIAC at-large selections. He led SJU in scoring average (74.4 in 25 rounds), rounds at par or better (5), top-five finishes (2) and top-10 finishes (4) in 2025-26. Grahek's scoring average was good for 12th in the MIAC. Grahek took first out of 120 golfers at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational and finished seventh among 11 nationally ranked teams at Carnegie Mellon's Tartan Invitational in October. He is currently 12th in program history with a 74.7 average in 49 career rounds.

The Johnnie golf team finished sixth out of nine teams at the 2025 MIAC Championships in late September. SJU won its first tournament of the season – the Augsburg Invitational – with an all-freshman line-up, in which Austin Roloff '29 collected his first medalist honor and tournament victory.

Bisson led the Johnnie hockey team in power-play scoring while majoring in finance with a 3.62 GPA. Bisson tied for fourth on the team in points (20) and goals (9) and ranked fourth in the MIAC with four power play goals.

Howe graduated in May with a 3.96 GPA in accounting. He became SJU's first All-America first-team selection in 20 years and the 25th overall when he was named to the CCM/AHCA first team. He was also selected to the All-USCHO and DIIIHockeyNews.com All-America second teams. He is the sixth Johnnie goaltender to be named an All-American in any right.

The four-time MIAC Athlete of the Week finished with a 16-6-4 record – the fourth-most wins in an SJU season – to go with a 2.51 GAA, a .929 save percentage and 869 saves. The 869 saves were the second-most in program history, 18 from the record of 887 owned by Hanson set in 1978-79. Three of Howe's four career assists were tallied this season.

Among goaltenders with 400 saves or more, he was first in GAA (2.27) and save percentage (.933) in league play. Howe was also second in saves (512). He was named to the All-MIAC and All-Playoff Team after he posted a 1.95 GAA and a .956 save percentage with 86 saves in the two MIAC playoff games. Howe ended his career with a 29-21-7 record, two shutouts, a 2.58 GAA, .923 save percentage and 1,761 saves in 60 games played.

Howe is a four-time AHCA All-American Scholar and has been named to the Academic All-MIAC team in all three of his eligible seasons.

A finance major with a 4.0 GPA, Lyke led the team with 12 goals and was third with 23 points. He was named All-MIAC honorable mention or the team lead with 15 points (5g/10a) in 16 conference games, which ranked seventh among all MIAC skaters this season. Lyke will earn his third AHCA All-American Scholar and second Academic All-MIAC honor this summer and has 44 points (21g/23a) with a +10 rating in 74 career games.

A global business leadership major with a 3.69 GPA, Wandmacher tied for the team lead in assists (18) and points (25) in 2025-26. He earned All-MIAC honors after tying Lyke for the team lead with 15 points (4g/11a) and a +10 rating in all 16 conference games. The 2024-25 NovaCare Comeback Athlete of the Year has 50 points (14g/36a) in 69 career games.

SJU (17-7-4, 10-3-3 MIAC) swept both MIAC titles for the fifth time in program history in 2025-26. The Johnnies won their 10th MIAC regular-season championship and first since 2020, as well as their first MIAC playoff championship (sixth overall) and trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament (seventh overall) since 2013.

The regular-season title was the third for head coach Doug Schueller, who collected his third MIAC Men's Hockey Coach of the Year honor, and the fifth overall (2013 and 2026 MIAC playoff championships). Schueller was also a finalist for the Edward Jeremiah Award, presented to the national coach of the year in NCAA Division III men's hockey.

SJU ended the season in the top 25 statistically in five statistical categories: 19th in winning percentage (.679); 21st in scoring offense (3.68 gpg.), team assists (169) and team points (272); and 23rd in scoring margin (+1.00).
