PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Saint John's junior
Cole Stencel (Mapleton, Minn./Maple River) led a six-Johnnie contingent in 26th place out of 343 runners with a time of 14:26.74, the fourth-fastest in SJU outdoor history, in the large 5,000-meter race Friday night (April 10) at Wisconsin-Platteville.
Junior
Lars Molenkamp (Almere, Netherlands/Oostvaarders College) was next in 178th (15:18.12) and senior
Jacob Malecha (Lonsdale, Minn./New Prague) was less than a second behind in 181st (15:18.23).
Bethel's Gene Glader Invitational
Sophomore
Connor Dow (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) 12th in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:05.64.
Sophomore
Adam Marable (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) led six Johnnies in the 1,500 meters with a 17th-place time (12th among NCAA Division III runners) of 4:18.68.
A pair of freshmen,
Ian Mills (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Area) and
Will Snyder (Papillion, Neb./Mount Michael Benedicine), were scheduled to race this evening in the 5,000 meters but the meet was canceled following the 400-meter hurdles (eliminating the 200-meter dash, 5,000 meters and 4x400-meter relay on the track).
The bulk of the Johnnies' track and field team was scheduled to compete today (Saturday, April 11) at the Minnesota State Open but the meet was postponed and rescheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, in Mankato.
