WAVERLY, Iowa – Saint John's distance medley relay broke the school record at Wartburg's Last Chance Meet on Friday night, Feb. 6.
The relay (
Nick St. Peter,
Cooper Smith,
Owen Montreuil,
Cole Stencel) won the first heat and finished seventh overall with a time of 10:04.84, which was 0:00.05 faster than the previous program record of 10:04.89 set by last year's foursome (St. Peter,
Wyatt Witschen, Montreuil, Stencel) that claimed third at last year's meet.
The top 20 marks/times nationally in each individual event and the top 12 in each relay race qualify for next weekend's (March 13-14) 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
The entrants are expected to be announced tomorrow evening (Sunday, March 8) on ncaa.com.
The relay entered the day 59th in NCAA Division III following its third-place time of 10:21.61 recorded last week at the MIAC Indoor Championships in Northfield. Middlebury (Vt.) was 12th at 9:56.24.
