SARTELL, Minn. – Saint John's tennis opened its 2026 season with a 7-0 loss to No. 21 Gustavus Adolphus on Friday, Feb. 13, at Sta-Fit.

Junior Alex Draeger (Litchfield, Minn.) and sophomore Cole Haabala (Alexandria, Minn.) won the Johnnies' (0-1, 0-1 MIAC) lone match at No. 1 doubles – 7-5 – but the Gusties (1-0, 1-0 MIAC) earned the doubles point with narrow 6-4 victories at Nos. 2 and 3. Draeger went 10-6 (5-4 MIAC) at No. 2 doubles last spring.

Haabala recorded SJU's closest match in singles play at No. 5, 6-2 and 6-3.
