MIAC Release

FARMINGTON, Minn. – Saint John's freshman defender Billy Cornett (Minneapolis, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) earned his second MIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award of the season on Monday, Oct. 19.

Cornett helped No. 21 SJU (13-1-2, 5-1-1 MIAC) to its third- and fourth-consecutive shutouts, holding opponents just eight total shots and four on goal as the Johnnies went 1-0-1 last week.

He played two complete games and totaled a shot on goal in SJU's 1-0 win at Concordia on Saturday.

Cornett leads the team with three game-winning goals and is second in both goals (6) and points (15) this fall.

The Johnnies visit No. 2 St. Olaf (13-0-2, 6-0-0 MIAC) for a 3:30 p.m. showdown on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Northfield.
