MIAC Release
FARMINGTON, Minn. – Saint John's sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Keekley (St. Louis Park, Minn./Minnetonka) and freshman forward
Jacob Oliver (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) were named the MIAC Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Monday, Oct. 12.
Keekley made six saves across a pair of starts as No. 17 SJU (12-1-1, 4-1-1 MIAC) went 1-0-1 in conference play last week. He stopped two shots in 55:37 of play in Tuesday's (Oct. 6) 7-0 home win over Hamline and collected four saves in Saturday's (Oct. 10) scoreless draw at Augsburg for his seventh full shutout of the season. He is currently (through Oct. 11) third in NCAA Division III in shutouts (7), fourth in save percentage (0.914) and fifth in GAA (0.288).
Oliver scored a hat trick off the bench in the Johnnies' 7-0 home win over the Pipers on Tuesday. The hat trick was the third by a Johnnie freshman since 2000, joining teammate
Axel Martin (Sept. 22, 2025 vs. St. Scholastica) and Michael Coborn '14 (Oct. 26, 2010 vs. Macalester). Martin and Coborn, however, were in the starting lineup in their three-goal performances. He leads the MIAC with five goals in conference play and is second in all games with nine.
SJU closes its non-conference schedule with a 4 p.m. game against Wisconsin-River Falls (5-5-3, 0-1-1 WIAC) on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Haws Field.
