Joey Gendreau (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for the second time this month on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Gendreau recorded career highs in catches (10) and receiving yards (166) for his third-straight 100-yard receiving game as SJU (3-0, 2-0 MIAC) posted its third-consecutive shutout with a 63-0 Homecoming win over Augsburg on Saturday (Sept. 27).
The performance enabled Gendreau to move into second place on SJU's tight ends list with 119 career receptions, is third in receiving yards (1,603) and tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns (14).
The 2024 All-American has 27 catches for 427 yards and three touchdowns through the season's first three games. He was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week on Sept. 16 following an eight-catch, 124-yard performance in the Johnnies' 49-0, season-opening win over Minnesota-Morris on Sept. 13.
The Johnnies travel to face No. 11/12 Bethel (3-0, 2-0 MIAC) in a rematch of the 2024 MIAC championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in Arden Hills.
