D3football.com Preseason Poll 

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Saint John's University football team was ranked No. 5 in D3football.com's Preseason Top 25 poll released Wednesday, July 23.

Seven teams in NCAA Region 6 were ranked in the top 25: SJU (No. 5), Wisconsin-La Crosse (No. 11), Bethel (No. 12), Wisconsin-Platteville (No. 15), Linfield (No. 16), Wisconsin-River Falls (No. 19) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 24). Wisconsin-Oshkosh (89), Whitworth (52) and Wisconsin-Stout (29) received votes.

SJU has now been ranked in D3football.com's top 25 in 127-consecutive polls (preseason, weeks 1-11, final). The last time the Johnnies were not ranked in the top 25 was in Week 3 of the 2014 season. The program has an average ranking of 8.15 since. Not counting the 2020-21 season that was ravaged by COVID-19, D3football.com has published 273 national polls since the ranking was established in 2003. SJU has been ranked in the top 25 in 218 of those, including 93 in the top five, 173 in the top 10 and 205 in the top 20.

The Johnnies report to campus on Friday, Aug. 15, with their first practice scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. SJU opens the 2025 season with a 1 p.m. kickoff Sept. 13 against Minnesota-Morris – the first of six home games this fall – in Clemens Stadium.
