A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's won two weight classes and finished seventh out of 14 teams at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational back on Dec. 6.

Holmquist started his day with an 8-3 decision and posted a quick, 37-second pin in his next match. He followed that with a 12-6 decision over Stevens Tech's Charles Piccione and topped the home team's Lane Andersen 10-6 in the championship bout. He is now 13-3 on the year.

Krueger posted a pair of shutouts, 5-0 and 9-0, to start his day and edged Stevens Tech's Dominic Marinilli 8-6 in the semifinal. He was down, 5-4 in the third period, in the semis. He edged Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Gavin Hanrahan 4-2 in the championship to improve to 11-1 on the year.

Junior Aidan Wayne (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) finished sixth at heavyweight with a 3-0 record. He is now 14-3 with eight pins. Wayne posted a first-period fall, followed by a 7-4 decision and a 17-1 technical fall before he left the tournament via medical forfeit to take sixth place.
