D3football.com Poll – Week 5
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Saint John's University dropped to No. 13 in today's (Sunday, Oct. 5) D3football.com Top 25 poll.
Eight teams in NCAA Region 6 were ranked in the top 25, including seven in the top 15: Wisconsin-La Crosse (No. 4), Wisconsin-Platteville (No. 6), Bethel (No. 7), Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 10), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (No. 11), SJU (No. 13), Wisconsin-River Falls (No. 14) and Linfield (No. 24). Lewis & Clark (15) received votes.
SJU (3-1, 2-1 MIAC) turned the ball over on downs twice inside Bethel's 15-yard line and also missed a 31-yard field goal in yesterday's (Oct. 4) 17-10 loss at Bethel.
Senior wide receiver
Dylan Wheeler (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View) caught eight passes for 113 yards, the 11th 100-yard receiving performance of his career, and junior linebacker
Aiden McMahon (Maple Grove, Minn.) made 17 tackles (11 solo).
The Johnnies host Macalester (2-2, 1-2 MIAC) – the first meeting between the two programs on the football field since 2001 – at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in Clemens Stadium.
