MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Saint John's University junior quarterback
Trey Feeney (Moorhead, Minn.) was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Feeney had another big day for the Johnnies, passing for 409 yards and six touchdowns in SJU's 49-10 victory over Carleton during Family Weekend on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Collegeville. He completed 33 of his 41 passes with a long of 46 - a nearly identical line to his Moorhead homecoming the week before. Feeney was 34-for-45 against Concordia on Oct. 18 with a long of 46. His 34 completions at Concordia were the most for a junior quarterback in program history and are tied for the fourth-most in a game. His 33 vs. Carleton on Saturday rank sixth overall.
Feeney's game of six passing touchdowns (or more) was the eighth of its kind in program history. Seven of the eight games occurred in Collegeville.
He is currently second in NCAA Division III in completion percentage (.785), fourth in passing efficiency (195.1) and ninth in yards per pass attempt (10.07).
Since taking over as SJU's full-time starter, Feeney has averaged 391.5 yards and five touchdowns per game.
No. 10/11 SJU (6-1, 5-1 MIAC) visits Gustavus Adolphus (3-4, 3-3 MIAC) for a 1 p.m. kickoff this Saturday, Nov. 1, at Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter.
