D3football.com Poll – Week 7 | NPI (Oct. 19)

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Saint John's University dropped one spot to No. 11 in the latest D3football.com Top 25 poll and jumped nine spots to No. 20 in the second National Power Index (NPI) released earlier today (Sunday, Oct. 19).

Eight teams in NCAA Region 6 were ranked in the top 25, including six in the top 12: Bethel (No. 5), Wisconsin-Platteville (No. 8), Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 9), Wisconsin-River Falls (No. 10), SJU (No. 11), Wisconsin-La Crosse (No. 12), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (No. 18) and Wisconsin-Stout (No. 24). Whitworth (5), Chapman (2) and Linfield (2) received votes.

Junior quarterback Trey Feeney (Moorhead, Minn.) threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns and the Johnnies' defense came up big as SJU (5-1, 4-1 MIAC) rolled to a 41-6 win over Concordia yesterday (Oct. 18) in Moorhead.

Junior linebacker Aiden McMahon (Maple Grove, Minn.) and sophomore safety Mark Rogalski (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) recorded interceptions and the Johnnies' defense stopped the Cobbers three times on fourth down in SJU territory.

Junior kicker/punter Matt Hansen (Longmont, Colo./Niwot) drilled a pair of field goals in the second quarter, including a 47-yarder on the final play of the first half to give the Johnnies a 20-0 halftime lead. The field goal tied Hansen for the seventh-longest in program history and was the longest by a Johnnie since 2012.

The Johnnies host Carleton (5-1, 5-0 MIAC) during Family Weekend at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in Clemens Stadium.
