COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's won seven events in an unscored dual meet against St. Olaf on Friday, Jan. 31, in the Donald McNeely Spectrum.
Junior
Owen Montreuil (Jordan, Minn.) and sophomore
Cooper Smith (Alvarado, Minn./East Grand Forks) went 1 (51.93)-2 (52.24) in the 400-meter dash and freshman
Max Reis (Fargo, N.D./Spectrum) led four consecutive Johnnies with a win in the 200-meter dash (22.99).
Junior
Josh Johnston (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori), like Reis, led a four-man SJU contingent in the pole vault (4:42 meters) and sophomore
Max McCoy (Bennington, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) took first in the 600 meters (1:26.28).
Four Johnnies finished second in their respective events:

Joe Gathje (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) in the 1,000 meters (2:39.30);
-Senior
Joe Mensen (Hudson, Wis./Hill-Murray) in the weight throw (13.59 meters);
-Sophomore
Kieran Murnan (Lakeville, Minn./Holy Angels) in the 60-meter dash (7.21)
-Senior
Zach Schaffer (Chaska, Minn.) in the long jump (6.93 meters).
SJU's 4x400-meter relay (

Bangaly Kaba,
Jacob Becker) was second (3:37.60).
Sophomore
Vincent Kaluza (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) led three Johnnies, uncontested in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:32.95 and sophomore
Aaron Freier (Red Wing, Minn.) did the same among three other teammates in the mile (4:57.93).
Senior
Alec Ungar (Eden Prairie, Minn./Chanhassen) and sophomore
Connor O'Brien (Belle Plaine, Minn.) competed uncontested with heights of 1.92 meters each in the high jump.
The Johnnies compete at the Division I Minnesota Classic at 9:30 a.m. next Saturday, Feb. 8, in Minneapolis.
