COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University junior golfer Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) and senior linebacker D.J. Myles (Dayton, Minn./Champlin Park) earned the MIAC's Elite 22 Award for their respective fall sports on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Modeled after the NCAA Elite 90 Award, the MIAC Elite 22 Award for football is presented to the individual with the highest GPA among the student-athletes who played in the MIAC Championship game and in golf to the student-athlete with the highest GPA among those who achieved All-MIAC honors (top 10) at the MIAC Championships. The honoree must be a junior or senior and in at least his second season of competition with his current team. The total number of credits completed served as the tie-breaker.

A global business leadership major with a 3.41 GPA, Fultz led SJU during all three rounds and finished fourth out of 45 golfers with a 1-over par 217 as the Johnnies tied for second out of nine teams at the MIAC Championships in October. He ended the fall schedule second on the team with a 74.5 average in 16 rounds. Fultz totaled three top-10 finishes in six events and three rounds at par or better.

A two-sport student-athlete at SJU, Myles is a global business leadership major with a 4.0 GPA. He has appeared in all 10 games for the nationally ranked Johnnie football team this fall and has 17 tackles (seven solo), including 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Myles went 8-7 at 197 pounds last season for the SJU wrestling team where he has a 26-22 career record with 14 pins.

No. 3/4 SJU (10-0, 8-0 MIAC), fresh off its 37th MIAC championship, begins its 33rd postseason appearance as the No. 1 overall seed by hosting the winner between No. 18/19 Wisconsin-La Crosse (7-3, 5-2 WIAC) and Northwestern (7-3, 7-0 UMAC) in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs at noon Saturday, Nov. 30, in Collegeville.
