COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's won 13 of the 16 events in a 192-102 dual victory over St. Olaf on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Warner Palaestra Pool in Collegeville.
The Johnnies totaled 29 top-three times on the afternoon.
Senior
Liam Noble (Plymouth, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) led the Johnnies with three individual wins. He took first in the 100- (55.61) and 200-yard (2:06.45) backstrokes, as well as the 100-yard butterfly (54.50) and was the first leg of SJU's first-place 200-yard medley relay (1:38.36; Noble, Megaw, Philion, Reuter).
Senior
Carter Larson (Sartell, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) nearly did the same by winning the 100- (47.51) and 1,000-yard (10:13.50) freestyles, and tied with junior
Carsten Reuter (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) for the victory in the 50-yard freestyle at 21.92 seconds.
Junior
Brayden Slavik (Green Isle, Minn./Chaska) claimed first in the 200- (1:45.26) and 500-yard (4:52.32) freestyles, while sophomore
Cody Watts (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) recorded the top score in both the 1-(219.55) and 3-meter (216.95) dives.
Junior
Clay Megaw (Monticello, Minn.) served as the other individual win for SJU in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.06) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:14.07; Slavik,
Colby Kern, Larson,
Jackson Hovda) also reached the top of the podium.
The Johnnies visit Hamline for a 5 p.m. dual meet on Friday, Nov. 8, in St. Paul.
