AFCA Poll - Week 8
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's is listed atop the NCAA Division III's National Power Index (NPI) for the second-consecutive week and remained at No. 4 in today's (Monday, Oct. 28) American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 poll.
SJU improved its NPI rating by 2.699 points from last week's inaugural computation. The NPI is the NCAA's new system for selecting the 12 at-large bids to the Division III playoffs, which will include 40 teams in 2024 (28 automatic bids, 12 at-large). –

Eight teams in NCAA Region 6 were ranked in the poll's top 25, including five in the top 15: SJU (No. 4), Wisconsin-Platteville (No. 9), Whitworth (No. 10), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (No. 13), Linfield (No. 15), Wisconsin-River Falls (No. 20) and Wisconsin-La Crosse (No. 21). Wisconsin-Whitewater, Bethel and Wisconsin-Stout received votes.
The Johnnies stayed at No. 3 in yesterday's (Oct. 27) D3football.com poll.
SJU (7-0, 5-0 MIAC, 2-0 Northwoods) travels to face St. Scholastica (2-5, 1-4 MIAC, 0-3 Northwoods) for a 1 p.m. kickoff this Saturday, Nov. 2, at Walt Hunting Stadium (formerly Public Schools Stadium) in Duluth.
