Johnnies are No. 1 in NCAA’s NPI, No. 4 in AFCA Poll

NCAA NPI | AFCA Poll - Week 7

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's is listed atop the NCAA's National Power Index (NPI) for Division III football and stayed at No. 4 in today's (Monday, Oct. 21) American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 poll.

The NCAA published the first NPI of the 2024 season last night (Oct. 20). The NPI is the NCAA's new system for selecting the 12 at-large bids to the Division III playoffs, which will include 40 teams in 2024 (28 automatic bids, 12 at-large). – More Info

Eight teams in NCAA Region 6 were ranked in the poll's top 25, including five in the top 15: SJU (No. 4), Wisconsin-River Falls (No. 9), Whitworth (No. 10), Wisconsin-Platteville (No. 11), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (No. 14), Linfield (No. 17), Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 22) and Wisconsin-La Crosse (t-No. 25). Wisconsin-Stout and Bethel received votes.

SJU stayed at No. 3 in yesterday's (Oct. 20) D3football.com poll.

The Johnnies (6-0, 4-0 MIAC, 1-0 Northwoods) host Gustavus Adolphus (4-2, 3-1 MIAC, 1-0 Northwoods) for Family Weekend at 1 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26, in Clemens Stadium.
