COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's swimming and diving completed the sweep of Minnesota-Morris with a 182-40 win on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Warner Palaestra Pool.
The Johnnies won all 12 events and totaled 30 top-three finishes less than 24 hours after last night's 172-50 victory in Morris.
A pair of Johnnies, senior
Langston Philion (Maple Grove, Minn.) and junior
Brayden Slavik (Green Isle, Minn./Chaska), won two individual events each. Philion took first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.48) and 200-yard individual medley (2:08.36), while Slavik won the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.19) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:14.68).
Seniors
Colby Kern (Delano, Minn.) and
Carter Larson (Sartell, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) touched the wall first in the 100- (49.13) 200-yard (1:47.98) freestyles, respectively, while juniors
Clay Megaw (Monticello, Minn.) and
Carsten Reuter (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) posted victories in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.14) and 50-yard freestyle (21.92).
Senior
Eli Grabinski (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) won the 3-meter dive (274.65) and sophomore
Cody Watts (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) bested him on the 1-meter board (247.90).
SJU won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:30.05; Kern,
Jackson Hovda, Slavik, Larson) and 200-yard medley (1:39.93; Noble, Megaw, Philion, Larson) relays.
The Johnnies visit Macalester for a 1 p.m. dual meet next Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Leonard Center Pool in St. Paul.
