COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University Athletics, in conjunction with INFCLR, has announced the launch of the Johnnie Exchange. SJU is the first men's only and third overall NCAA Division III institution to launch a platform with INFLCR, which connects student-athletes and businesses directly in developing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).

Johnnie Exchange, a free service to SJU student-athletes and the commercial and non-profit enterprises that use it, will help the Johnnies customize and manage NIL reporting, while providing approved businesses and individuals with a customized portal for communicating directly with student-athletes and fulfilling NIL transactions.

"Saint John's athletics is committed to promoting the rights of student-athletes to be appropriately compensated by third parties for the use of their Name, Image and Likeness," SJU athletic director Bob Alpers '82 said. "We have partnered with INFLCR to prepare our student-athletes to develop their personal brands and NIL opportunities in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations."

The partnership with INFLCR will provide NIL opportunities to student-athletes in a structure where compliance requirements are incorporated.

After a business or individual registers on Johnnie Exchange, they can access a searchable database of Saint John's student-athletes and filter through the various criteria of their choosing. They can then message the student-athlete directly in the application or request the student-athlete's contact information (or that of their representative) to start a discussion about a NIL transaction, provided they are within legal protocols.

"We are really excited to provide our students with NIL-related financial literacy and entrepreneurship opportunities," Alpers added. "This will be a wonderful opportunity for our student-athletes, our business partners and Johnnie athletic supporters to grow together."

NIL activities may include autographs, promoting brands on social media, third-party media endorsements, running camps or clinics, providing private sports lessons, personal appearances and more. During this process, SJU and INFLCR will not be part of any negotiations between the business/individuals and student-athletes.

"We are excited to have our first men's only institution, Saint John's University, utilizing INFLCR for their NIL marketplace," said Jim Cavale, INFLCR founder. "The launch of the Johnnie Exchange will empower student-athletes to monetize their brands with NIL partnerships on a fee-free platform."

Businesses, individuals and non-profits may sign-up by clicking here.

SJU will opt-in its student-athletes, who also may opt-out if they choose not to participate.
