Junior forward
Lewis Crosby (Edina, Minn.) extended the margin with his fifth goal of the year and 40th point as a Johnnie 3:58 into the third period and sophomore forward
Matt DeRosa (Alpharetta, Ga.) ended the game's scoring with his second goal of the weekend on a nice one-timer from classmate
Garrett Smith (Eden Prairie, Minn.) with 5:05 remaining.
SJU has now won nine in a row against GAC (13-2-2 in the last 17 meetings) and leads the series with a 43-13-9 record since 1995.
The Johnnies wrap up their non-conference schedule with a pair of "home" games next weekend, beginning with a 3 p.m. matinee against Wisconsin-Stout on Friday, Jan. 13, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in Sartell. SJU then hosts No. 9 Wisconsin-Stevens Point for a neutral-site game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Scheels Athletic Complex in Sartell.
